The Arab Federation for the Digital Economy at the League of Arab States met with the African Union on 10 November to coordinate efforts for implementing digital economy initiatives stemming from the Arab Vision for Digital Economy and in relation to the socioeconomics and digital transformation in the African continent.
The meeting was attended by HE Albert Muchanga, Commissioner for Economic Development, Trade, Industry and Mining of the African Union and Patrick Osta, Assistant Secretary-General for International Community Affairs in the Arab Union for Digital Economy along with a number of officials from both sides.
Digital transformation and digital trade projects were on top of the agenda to support development efforts and goals in the African Union, strengthen the Arab-African cooperation, and focus on socioeconomic projects that improve the lives of the citizens and communities at large.
Muchange stressed on the importance of the “Arab vision” in developing the fields of the digital economy in the Arab and African region. Further collaboration is set to take place within the coming period.
