Saif bin Zayed inaugurates the Digital Economy Technologies Conference and Exhibition “Seamless Middle East 2022”

In the presence of His Excellency André Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar, General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, inaugurated the activities of the Digital Economy Conference and Exhibition “Seamless Middle East 2022”, which is held at the Convention and Exhibition Center in Dubai under the auspices of the League of Arab States.

The organization of the conference comes in the context of the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy project, which was announced in Abu Dhabi in December 2018, with the generous support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, which was drawn up by a number of international institutions and organizations, such as Harvard University, and experts from the United Nations and the World Bank.

His Highness attended the opening session of the conference, where he witnessed the launch of the third edition of the Arab Digital Economy Index 2022, which is the first Arab indicator to measure the development of digital economy practices in the Arab region after the release of the two versions of the index for the years 2018 and 2020.

A large number of government officials in the Arab region, elite leaders in the private sector and a number of international experts will participate in the conference sessions, to shed light on international experiences in the main themes of the conference, which include digital government, digital security, electronic payments, e-commerce platforms, and technologies Retail, financial technology, banking, digital identity, and logistics.

The opening was attended by His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, His Excellency Sheikh Moulay El Taher, Minister of Digital Transformation and Innovation in Mauritania, His Excellency Adel Hassan Mohamed, Minister of Communications and Digital Transformation in Sudan, His Excellency Ishaq Mohamed Sharif Sidr, Minister of Communications in Palestine, and His Excellency Kamal El Din Saif, Minister of Post and Communications and the digital economy in the United Republic of the Comoros, His Excellency Atef Helmy, President of the General Assembly of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, the former Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt, His Excellency Counselor Abdel Aziz Salman, Vice President of the Supreme Constitutional Court in Egypt, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Ahmed Elni, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, and His Excellency Muhammad Othman Al-Khasht, President of Cairo University, His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Economic Union, and the ambassadors of Arab countries accredited to the Emirates (Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, Lebanon, Somalia,Algeria, Bahrain, Syria, Mauritania, Djibouti, the United Comoros, Palestine, and Sudan), a large number of Arab delegations, government officials and experts in the fields of digital economy, and a number of officials in international organizations.
