The Arab Federation for Digital Economy participates in the preparatory meeting for the work of the fifth session of the Forum of Specialized Arab Unions in Tunisia

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy, member of the Executive Office of the Forum of Specialized Arab Federations in the League of Arab States, participated in the preparatory meeting for the work of the fifth session of the Forum of Specialized Arab Federations, and the fourth meeting of the Executive Office of the Forum of Specialized Arab Federations in the Republic of Tunisia during the period from 27-30 May 2022. The forum sessions were chaired by Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Office of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, in the presence of His Excellency Minister Plenipotentiary Muhammad Khair Abdel Qader, Director of the Department of Arab Organizations and Federations in the League of Arab States, and His Excellency Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Jarwan, Head of the Executive Office and President of the General Union of Arab Experts.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials in the federations, members of the Executive Office of the Forum of Specialized Arab Federations in the League of Arab States.

The Arab Federation for the Digital Economy, through the Assistant Secretary-General / Ayman Ghoneim, presented a comprehensive research study on the challenges facing the world, especially after the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which led to a global food crisis due to the rise in energy prices and its direct impact on the prices of food products and also because of the interruption of supplies received from these two countries. The study shows that the Arab region is one of the regions most affected by these consequences of the Arab countries’ association with the two sides of the conflict in vital areas such as grain, energy and tourism, and that these new situations have prompted Arab governments to reopen the debate on Arab food security.
