The Arab Federation for the Digital Economy of the League of Arab States held a coordination meeting at the Jumeirah Al Qasr Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the Presidency of the Republic of Madagascar to discuss ways to benefit from the initiatives of the Arab vision of the digital economy and the transfer of Arab expertise.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Andrés Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar, H.E Richard J. Randriamandrato – Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Tahina Razavinandramlo, Minister of Digital Development, Digital Transformation, Posts and Telecommunications, and H.E. Gérard Bersau, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic. On the side of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity – Chairman of the Board of Directors, and a number of senior officials in the Federation attended.

The meeting included a review of the initiatives emanating from the Arab vision for the digital economy, which was announced for the first time at the International Conference on the Arab Digital Economy, which was held in Abu Dhabi in December 2018, under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State – may God protect him. It aims to advance digital economic development, as a step to pave the way towards building a sustainable digital economy in the region.

For his part, the President of the Republic of Madagascar praised the “Arab Vision for the Digital Economy” project, praising the support and sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for this ambitious renaissance project to rebuild and develop economic systems and support joint action efforts in the Arab region. He also indicated that the Republic of Madagascar will seek to benefit from this project in developing its national plans by benefiting from Arab experiences in this field and in constructive cooperation with the Arab Federation for Digital Economy.
