The Arab Federation for Digital Economy and the delegation of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and ESCWA visit the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park to discuss aspects of cooperation

A delegation from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and the Arab Union for the Digital Economy visited the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the consultative conference and expert meetings on the Arab digital agenda and the Arab Forum global digital collaboration,

During the visit, the center’s various specialized innovation laboratories were reviewed, including soil and water laboratories, metalworking, electronics, 3D printing and robotics.

The delegation was also briefed on the abilities of the Society to hold meetings, exhibitions and conferences, which is one of the activities of the Society, which has great diversity in this field. They also discussed future opportunities for cooperation, and the completion of consultations on this cooperation.

It is worth noting that the delegation was received by Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Khaled Wali, Director of the Information and Communications Technology Department of the League of Arab States, Dr. Ayman El-Sherbiny, Director of Information and Communication Technology Policies at ESCWA, and Dr. Ayman Mukhtar Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Digital Economy, Senior Advisor Khalifa Ibrahim Al Raisi, and Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Senior Business Development Manager.

The delegation praised the prominent role played by the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park and the great achievements in the fields of research, applied sciences and advanced technology, and its great capabilities, especially in the areas of innovation and sponsorship of startups, and that this field may witness a great cooperation with the Federation in the future.
