Abu Dhabi.. His Excellency Dr. Ali Muhammad Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity in the League of Arab States, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, a lecture organized by the National Defense College at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency Major General Staff Pilot/ Rashad Mohammed Al-Saadi, Commander of the National Defense College, and members of the College’s steering committee with the participation of – Remotely – for a large number of leaders and government officials enrolled in the college’s programs.

During his speech, Dr. Ali Al-Khouri reviewed the topics related to the Covid 19 crisis and the economic predicament the world is facing today, and stressed that governments will move to bring about change on the ground and quickly to re-cycle the economic wheel in their countries, due to the danger of continuing the approach of closure and the presence of a large proportion of the population without Work and no livelihood, noting at the same time that the Corona crisis showed the weakness of the global economic system and its fragility in dealing with severe crises, in addition to the fact that government systems in major countries did not deal with many strategic files in a manner commensurate with the huge budgets allocated to them, such as food security. supply chains, health security and digital infrastructures.

The adviser to the Council of Arab Economic Unity pointed out that according to the reports of international organizations, the historical deflation rates the world is witnessing today and the state of economic stagnation may be worse than what the world witnessed in the thirties of the last century.

He also expected that the outbreak of serious diseases in human societies would continue, to have significant economic and political effects, noting that the new global economy began to crystallize its features and began to show some of its features, which requires countries to strengthen cooperation for further economic integration to ensure the achievement of their national interests, and to benefit from One of the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which will inevitably re-design and enable the new global economy, indicating that success in crossing a new stage in the global system depends on the extent to which governments are able to challenge traditional thought and adopt a more innovative mindset, based on achieving results and measuring impact.
