Dubai – On the morning of Monday, December 9, 2019, the activities of the Forum “2020” were launched at Rawdat Al Murooj Hotel in Dubai, under the auspices of the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the League of Arab States, amid a large participation of Arab leaders and experts from government institutions, international organizations and business sectors at the regional and international levels. The forum aims to discuss the achievements and successes achieved, post-2020 strategies and future challenges.
The forum was attended by delegations from several institutions, most notably from the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon), a high-ranking delegation from the Council of Arab Economic Unity, and a wide participation of officials from the United Arab Emirates.

Forum sessions
In the first session of the conference, Dr. Issa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, spoke about the latest scientific methodologies and leadership excellence practices in order to improve the performance of post-2020 institutions, achieve achievements and learn about the latest global strategies and practices.
Then, Mr. Abdel Nour Sami, an information security consultant, touched on strategies to enhance digital confidence in a connected world, augmented reality and the latest innovations, and the development of solutions to transform the technology-enhanced future into reality through digital transformation processes, smart government and the development of institutional systems.
Mr. Nizar Khan, the strategic expert and director of FB Global Developments, spoke about the future strategies for developing institutional innovation and the future and role of blockchain technology in achieving added value and increasing the efficiency of economic sectors.
After that, Dr. Ahmed Tahlak, the entrepreneur and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Levenbert, presented a working paper on the development of economic knowledge and its connection with enhancing competitiveness within institutions, economic competitiveness in its general form, and investment based on analyzing the data of the foundations of the knowledge economy, developing the future of the national economy, and supporting institutions in an integrated and more compatible with Global developments and developments.
The conference activities also included a speech by Mr. George Sebastio, IT expert and data center official – at Huawei, during which he spoke about the current international practices in the areas of institutional leadership development, innovation foundations and raising the level of enterprise integration in light of the developments of the fifth generation of information technology.
The conference attendees also discussed, during open panel discussions, dialogues on strategies to enable the countries of the region and their institutions to achieve qualitative additions at all levels, especially with the high rates of technical and administrative progress that put institutions in front of challenges that require finding new mechanisms that enable them to make a qualitative shift in the future system of institutional work.
