The Arab Federation for Digital Economy announced the launch of its strategic plan for the period 2025-2030. This plan represents the institutional framework governing its programs, initiatives, and activities, with the aim of directing its efforts in a more integrated and effective manner toward serving the digital transformation in the Arab world.

The new strategy is based on an integrated framework that seeks to develop digital infrastructure, coordinate regional policies in the digital economy, support technical capacity building, and stimulate innovation across various sectors. This will contribute to building a sustainable Arab digital economy capable of keeping pace with international changes and capitalizing on the opportunities offered by modern technologies.

His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, emphasized that this plan serves as an operational document for the Federation and aims to activate its role as an Arab institution specialized in leading digital transformation in the region, based on specific programs and measurable and actionable practical objectives.

Al-Khouri added, “The next phase requires institutional systems capable of strategic planning and creating effective spaces for cooperation between governments, the private sector, and the academic community. This will pave the way for applicable digital solutions that contribute to economic diversification, improve resource efficiency, and create new opportunities for future generations.”

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy Strategic Plan 2025–2030 represents an integrated framework aimed at guiding joint Arab institutional action toward building a robust and sustainable digital economy capable of keeping pace with rapid international changes and meeting the needs of economic and social development in the region. The plan is based on an update of the “Arab Vision for the Digital Economy,” adopted by the Arab Summit in Algeria in 2022, to keep pace with global technological transformations and respond to rapid developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and emerging technologies.

The plan also includes the continued development and publication of the Arab Digital Economy Index, a reference tool for assessing the digital performance of Arab countries on an annual basis. It provides targeted recommendations to policymakers based on quantitative and qualitative data that reflects the reality of digital transformation, as well as areas of progress and challenges at the national and regional levels. The plan also continues to work on activating the Arab Digital Economy Award, as a tool for encouraging innovative initiatives and projects with regional impact, and promoting a culture of institutional excellence in various areas of digital transformation.

The plan gives special priority to supporting the implementation of the strategic platforms launched by the Union over the past years, most notably the Digital Education Platform, which has undergone pilot phases in several Arab countries. The plan seeks to expand its scope of implementation and enhance its operational readiness. The plan also includes the activation of projects such as the Arab Food Market to enable food supply chains through digital tools, and the Mahaseel project to develop digital agriculture. It also includes updating the Arab Digital Investment Map as a catalytic tool to attract capital and maximize the economic impact of digital initiatives.
