The Federation was represented at the meeting by Dr. Mohammed Fawaz Al-Mutalqa, a member of the General Assembly, who presented an overview of the Federation’s most prominent initiatives and strategic projects supporting sustainable development, most notably the “Arab Vision for the Digital Economy” and the “Arab Digital Economy Index 2026.” The presentation highlighted the Index’s role in measuring the state of the digital economy in Arab countries, assessing their progress in digital infrastructure, technological sovereignty, skills, and innovation, and identifying gaps and challenges that require addressing.
He also explained that the index provides a reference that helps decision-makers compare digital performance between countries, identify priorities, formulate data-based policies and strategies, and direct investments towards promising sectors, thereby supporting Arab integration and contributing to accelerating digital transformation and achieving sustainable economic development.

The presentation also addressed the importance of utilizing the index’s outputs in exchanging experiences and successful practices among Arab countries, and helping government institutions and the private sector understand the reality of digital transformation and identify areas that need further development and investment, thus contributing to directing efforts towards building an Arab economy more capable of keeping pace with technological developments.
During the meeting, participants stressed the importance of Arab economic cooperation and expanding joint investments, and moving from the stage of recommendations to implementing practical projects that contribute to raising the ability of Arab economies to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the global economy and supply chains.
The Federation’s participation comes within the framework of its efforts to support joint Arab action in the fields of digital economy and technological transformation, and to highlight the importance of data and specialized indicators in supporting decision-makers, and developing policies and initiatives that support building an integrated and competitive Arab economy, and enhance its presence in global value chains.
