The Arab Federation for Digital Economy participated in the 61st meeting of specialized Arab federations, held under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Economic Unity on May 29, 2025, with wide attendance and participation from representatives of Arab federations and organizations.
During the meeting, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Khair, Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, presented a comprehensive working paper titled “Electronic Payments and Digital Currencies.” The paper included an analysis of the reality of digital transformation in Arab countries’ financial structures, a review of the most prominent global developments in financial technology, and a presentation of future prospects for adopting innovative and secure payment solutions that support Arab economic integration.
This initiative received special praise from the Council of Arab Economic Unity, which thanked the Arab Federation for Digital Economy for its outstanding research efforts, emphasizing the importance of this study in enriching economic discussions and formulating joint Arab policies in the field of the digital economy.
In this context, Ambassador Mohammed Khair emphasized that the Council’s recognition reflects the Union’s growing role as a leading Arab expert on digital economy issues, noting that preparing such studies enhances the ability of Arab decision-makers to keep pace with rapid developments in the global economy. He added that this recognition embodies the pivotal role of the Arab Union for Digital Economy in supporting the Arab digital transformation process and consolidating its position as a regional knowledge platform that contributes to building a more sustainable future for the Arab economy.
