As part of its efforts to support sustainability and green transformation initiatives, the Arab Federation for Digital Economy participated in launching a unique project targeting waste recycling and converting it into clean energy sources , in cooperation with a number of local, international, and regional partners in the public and private sectors.

The project aims to promote a circular economy in the Arab world by utilizing waste as an alternative resource, reducing carbon emissions, and achieving sustainable economic and environmental feasibility, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy.

His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri , Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, emphasized that the project reflects the Federation’s commitment to adopting digital and technological solutions that support the environmental transformation in the region, noting that “the digital economy is inseparable from the green economy, but rather represents a key enabler for accelerating the transition towards smart and sustainable societies.”

He added that the Federation will leverage its digital transformation tools and collaborative platforms to support the project through data analysis, connecting value chain players, and attracting innovative investments in this promising field.

Ms. Sophie Delagerouday noted that this project represents an ambitious step toward achieving a more sustainable economy in the Arab world, by utilizing waste as an alternative energy source and reducing negative environmental impacts. “We are proud to partner with the Arab Federation for Digital Economy in this pioneering initiative, and we fully recognize the importance of technology and innovation in reshaping our environmental future. This initiative not only addresses waste challenges, but also opens new horizons for green development and creates value-added economic opportunities for communities.”

This project represents an important step towards integrating the environmental dimension into Arab digital policies and enhances cooperation between Arab countries in addressing environmental challenges through technology and innovation.
