Morocco Launches “Morocco AI 2030” Roadmap

On September 8, the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform in Rabat presented the key updates of the “Morocco AI 2030” roadmap, also known as “AI Made in Morocco,” along with a set of concrete mechanisms and solutions.

Major Goals for 2030

The roadmap set three major goals for 2030: generating 100 billion dirhams in added value for GDP, creating 50,000 jobs, and training 200,000 talents in artificial intelligence, while integrating children into programs to introduce them to AI from an early age. Implementation rests on the network of “JAZARI” institutes, which includes four research and applied institutes.

Startup Funding

In a complementary development, international reports on September 18 revealed that Morocco’s startup incentive fund has allocated 347 million dirhams (€32 million) in public resources to venture capital funds over three years, with the ultimate goal of mobilizing 2.5 billion dirhams (€230 million) for local startups in the digital sector. Nine private investment firms were selected to manage these resources.
