Choose dr. Ali Al-Khouri for membership of the International Advisory Board of Hainan Port for Free Trade to support Arab-Chinese digital development and cooperation
Advisor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, was selected as a member of the International Advisory Council for the Port of Hainan Free Trade in the People’s Republic of China, at the official invitation of the Hainan Provincial Government and the local leadership of the Communist Party of China.
The announcement of the membership of Dr. Al-Khoury came during the official ceremony held in the Chinese province of Hainan in the presence of Feng Vi, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Committee in Hainan Province, and a number of senior government officials and representatives of international and international institutions participating in the membership of the Council.
The Hainan Port Free Trade International Advisory Board is a high-level international advisory platform with 61 senior business leaders, decision makers and international experts, representing the financial, investment, technology, energy, aviation, logistics, international consulting, chambers of commerce, international organizations and public think tanks and policy centers.
Provide insights and recommendations
The Council provides strategic visions and recommendations in support of the development of Hainan Free Trade Port and consolidates its position as a global hub for trade, investment and innovation.
Dr. Al-Khouri was selected in recognition of his experience and contributions in the fields of digital economy, digital government, technology policy and international cooperation, in addition to his role in supporting digital transformation and sustainable development initiatives at the regional and international levels.
Following the announcement ceremony, the Council held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Feng Vi, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Committee in Hainan Province, in the presence of Xie Jing, Governor of the Province, along with members of the Council of international leaders and representatives of financial and investment institutions and international organizations.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Khoury spoke within the fifth axis dedicated to scientific and technological empowerment, where he stressed the importance of employing digital technologies in the development of the global trade system, pointing out that building commercial environments based on reliable data and digital integration would support the efficiency of trade and investment and facilitate cross-border business movement.
Expanding Digital Cooperation
He called for expanding the areas of digital cooperation between Hainan Free Trade Port and Arab countries to contribute to supporting economic development and opening new horizons for international partnerships. Dr. Al-Khoury will participate in the Council’s work on reviewing the strategic directions of Hainan Free Trade Port, evaluating initiatives and policies related to its development, and formulating recommendations in support of growth and expansion paths.
Hainan Free Trade Port is one of the largest economic and strategic projects launched by China in recent years, and aims to transform the province into a global hub for trade, investment, digital economy and modern services. The area extends over an area of about 35 thousand square kilometers, with an advanced system of commercial, customs and logistics facilities designed to attract international investments and support the movement of goods, capital and data.
For his part, Dr. Atef Helmy, President of the General Assembly of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, said that the selection of Dr. Al-Khoury for membership of the Council reflects the growing presence of Arab competencies in international platforms concerned with the formulation of economic and technological policies, and opens new horizons for cooperation with Chinese and international institutions in the fields of digital economy, technology and sustainable development.
