The Seamless 2021 Digital Economy Technology Conference and Exhibition concluded today in Dubai. The conference aimed to support and enhance digital economy growth opportunities in the Arab region, with a significant Arab presence, led by officials from the League of Arab States.
The Arab Federation for Digital Economy, affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the League of Arab States, launched two new initiatives: the Arab Digital Economy Award Initiative and the Establishment of Advanced Data Centers in the Arab Region, one of the initiatives of the Arab Vision for Digital Economy. The conference featured discussions, lectures, and working papers presented by a number of specialists and experts in the digital economy. An exhibition was also organized on the sidelines for several entities and companies that deal with and produce technologies and tools in the fields of digital government services, digital identity, digital payments, e-commerce, retail, and financial technology.
The Arab Digital Economy Award Initiative is a new step in the efforts of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, which aims to stimulate research and knowledge efforts to develop concepts of excellence and creativity related to digital economy applications, and to encourage individuals and institutions in the public and private sectors to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and the preparation of scientific research in the field of digital economy.
The initiative to establish advanced data centers across the Arab region, one of the initiatives of the Arab Digital Economy Vision, aims to enable developing Arab countries to own digital infrastructure and develop and manage cloud services to support digital transformation in all economic sectors, including government services. It also aims to help developing countries reduce capital and operating expenses, provide alternative solutions to improve energy consumption, and provide hosting solutions.
