The Council of Arab Economic Unity, headed by Ambassador Mohamed Mohamed Al-Rabie, Secretary-General of the Council, discussed with officials at Cairo University the follow-up to the implementation mechanisms of the Arab Digital Economy Strategy Study.
The Council reviewed the initial reviews conducted by members of the review committee, composed of 70 international experts from international organizations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the UK Government Digital Service, the World Economic Forum, and other international institutions.
The subcommittee of the Council of Arab Economic Unity is working to develop and review all the strategy’s outputs to ensure global content and presentation and achieve the desired goals of sustainable development in the Arab world.
During the regular meeting, the components of the draft strategy and a number of initiatives that will contribute to the strategy’s subsequent implementation mechanisms were reviewed.
Dr. Ayman Saad Al-Khatib, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research at Cairo University, praised the efforts of the Council of Arab Economic Unity and the initiative, which promotes close cooperation with international organizations.
It is worth noting that the Council of Arab Economic Unity is the body responsible for implementing the strategy and strengthening the efforts of effective international institutions concerned with developing global economies and community stability and development programmes.
