During a visit by its delegation to Russia, the Arab Federation for Digital Economy announced the commencement of steps to open a representative office for the Federation, a move aimed at establishing a permanent institutional channel for developing economic and technological cooperation with Russia and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Federation.

The announcement came as part of a partnership with the Center for Economic Cooperation and Investment Development, the Federation’s partner in the Eurasian Economic Federation, which received theFederation’s delegation and coordinated the program of meetings with Russian institutions, the business community and the technology sector during the visit.

The decision to establish the office follows a series of meetings held by the delegation with Business Russia, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and RUSSOFT, as well as a number of specialized technology companies and organizations. These meetings demonstrated a mutual interest in building more structured cooperative relationships with Arab markets. The visit concluded with the importance of building upon existing institutional relationships with these entities as gateways to accessing a wide range of Russian companies and business and investment opportunities.

The anticipated office aims to play a practical role in communicating with institutions and companies, introducing Arab projects and needs, identifying suitable partners, organizing meetings, following up on cooperation opportunities, and supporting companies wishing to build partnerships or enter new markets, so that it becomes an executive tool to support relations between the Arab world and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Federation.

During the meetings, the Federation presented its strategic project, MADAR, as a key tool that can be employed within this model, by organizing and showcasing Arab projects and opportunities and connecting them with appropriate technology, investment, and partners. Rossoft and the participating companies expressed interest in the project and its potential to support cooperation and facilitate organized access to Arab markets.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Digital Government of the United Arab Emirates (TDRA), where the delegation met with His Excellency Engineer Majid Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of the Authority. The meeting addressed opportunities for cooperation in the Arab Digital Economy Index and a number of initiatives of common interest, with an agreement to continue coordination during the next phase.

The next stage is to transform the network of relationships built during the visit into an organized, institutional workflow, starting with selecting a limited number of viable opportunities in the fields of artificial intelligence, data centers, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure and software, then linking each opportunity to the appropriate companies and institutions and following up until the project or partnership development stage.

The Federation believes that the main value of the visit lies in moving from public relations and meetings to building a continuous cooperation system that brings together the representative office, the Center for Economic Cooperation and Investment Development, the Russian partner institutions, and the “Madar” platform, which allows for the presentation of clear opportunities and projects for both parties and transforming Arab cooperation with Russia and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Federation into feasible economic and technological partnerships.
